Bio: I am a retired priest of the Episcopal Church, having served several churches in southwestern Wyoming over the past 20 or so years. I am married with two grown children. I have been associated with mental health issues through my work as a pastor, by way of my wife’s work as a psychiatric nurse (R.N.) and also that of my daughter who is a direct care work in a mental health group home. I currently reside in Evanston, Wyoming, doing mostly volunteer work. I enjoy cooking, music, gardening, camping and being with people engaging in the exchange of ideas.

William Howell

Casper, Wyoming

Bio:William Howell works at Central Wyoming Counseling Center in Casper, WY following his move to Wyoming in February of 2015 from Missouri. Mr. Howell has worked in mental health for over 13 years in psychiatric hospital settings, clinic based settings for both adults and adolescent clients. He has spent a great deal of time working with youth and children in an intensive in-home program, as well as residential for clients ages 12 to 17. Currently, Mr. Howell is the program manager for Therapeutic Family Care where he supervises therapists and case managers that work with children from pre-school age up to 18 years old. This program also provides case management services as well as individual therapy and family therapy in a home/community based program. Mr. Howell seeks to be an active member in NAMI Wyoming's continued mission of providing a voice for individuals and families who are affected by mental illness.

Amye Trefethen

Bio: Amye Trefethen is a Peer Support Specialist at Peak Wellness Center in Albany County.  In addition to her work as a Peer Support Specialist, Ms.  Trefethen is also an instructor for Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health first aid, the NAMI Smarts for Advocacy Program, and a NAMI Family to Family instructor.  Ms. Trefethen enjoys advocating for individuals and family members who are affected by mental illness and she is an active participant in assisting others to become advocates.

Cheryl Sherman

Bio: Cheryl Sherman is a consumer and has been on the Board for three years.  Having attended monthly phone meetings and yearly conventions she has enjoyed helping to make decisions for the NAMI Wyoming and the local affiliate leadership in Uinta County.  Ms. Sherman believes that each of us can improve ourselves and help our friends make good choices.
